The original Grasshopper route ran from Claysville Junction north of Waynesville, Ohio to Sedalia (aka Midway), Ohio. Due to the many trestles required near Caesar Creek, the route was changed from McKay Station so the line ran south-west to South Kingman, Ohio instead of west to Claysville, Ohio.
